The Primary Objective of the Position

We are seeking a competent and dependable driver to become a part of our vibrant team. If you possess a valid driver’s license and are dedicated to providing exceptional service, we encourage you to apply. The successful candidate will be tasked with transporting products and equipment to various locations, as well as facilitating deliveries and pickups for our customers. Additionally, you will support other driving-related responsibilities as needed for the daily operations of the business.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Completion of Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.
  • A valid driver’s license with an impeccable driving record.
  • Prior experience as a driver in a comparable setting is preferred.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to efficiently coordinate delivery schedules.
  • Capability to operate and drive different types of vehicles, including cars and light commercial vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • A high degree of professionalism and dependability.
  • Competence in performing basic vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., oil levels, tire pressure, fluid levels).
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physically fit and capable of assisting with the movement of equipment and other physical tasks as necessary.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Organizing and executing cost-effective and timely deliveries.
Verifying the accuracy of delivery documents and cash/cheques received from clients.
Completing log sheets, interpreting delivery documents and maps, and communicating effectively with both internal staff and customers.
Upholding good housekeeping standards concerning the vehicles operated.
Packing and unpacking items for storage in the storeroom.
Arranging items in a systematic and accessible manner.
Inspecting stock items for wear or defects and reporting any damage to the supervisor.
Receiving and counting stock items, and notifying the supervisor of any discrepancies.
Labeling stock items as necessary.
Ensuring that proper documentation is available during the receipt or dispatch of stock, and reporting any inconsistencies to the supervisor immediately.
