Position Title: Assistant Supervisor
Employment Start Date: April 7, 2025
Location: Koedoespoort, Pretoria, and sites in Isando, Kempton Park

Job Overview:
The Assistant Supervisor will support a Foreman in managing activities on a construction site. Responsibilities include overseeing construction tasks, completing necessary documentation (such as Permit To Work and Daily Safe Task Instructions), measuring work for quotations and claims using a tape measure, and performing basic calculations. The role also involves assisting with the handling of materials, moving tools, and representing the company during Daily Activity Briefing Sessions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of construction activities

  • Performing basic area and volume calculations based on measurements

Working Hours and Conditions:

  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00
  • Every second Friday: 07:00 – 13:15
  • Overtime may be available, though infrequently

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Monthly Salary: R7,000.00
  • Overtime Rate: 1.5 times the regular pay
  • Payment Schedule: Bi-weekly
  • Annual Leave: 1 day for every 17 days worked
  • Sick Leave: 30 days over a 3-year period
  • Maternity Leave: 4 months in accordance with the Labour Act (for females)
  • Career Advancement: With adequate experience, opportunities exist to progress to Foreman, Construction Engineer, and eventually to Senior Construction Engineer or Project Manager.

Training:
Participants will undergo two days of Occupational Health and Safety training, receiving certificates in relevant safety protocols. The estimated value of this training is approximately R5000.
