Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medications or scheduled substances
- Support the compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile medications or scheduled substances in accordance with formulas and standard operating procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist
- Aid in the manufacturing of non-sterile medications or scheduled substances following approved formulas and procedures
- Assist with the re-packaging of medications
- Help manage the distribution and control of stock for Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medications or scheduled substances
- Support the ordering of medications and scheduled substances up to Schedule 6, based on instructions from an authorized individual as per the Medicines Act
- Assist in reading and preparing prescriptions, selecting, manipulating, or compounding medications, and ensuring proper labeling and supply in appropriate containers, following the pharmacist’s interpretation and evaluation of the prescription.
- Accurately interpret prescriptions and conduct oneself in a professional and responsible manner, adhering to legal requirements as stipulated by the SAPC.
- Precisely document prescription details and confirm patient information within the system.
- Ensure the meticulous selection, packing, labeling, and verification of medications, while being knowledgeable about standard dosages and significant drug interactions.
