- Warmly greeting clients entering the salon, and efficiently managing communications via email and telephone when necessary.
- Ensuring clients waiting are comfortable by providing them with magazines and refreshments.
- Offering expert advice and information on the range of hair care products available at our salon.
- Assisting clients with gowns, and providing pre-haircut services such as shampooing, rinsing, and conditioning.
- Supporting stylists with various salon services, promoting a seamless experience for clients.
- Managing scheduling for client appointments and maintaining accurate client records.
- Upholding a pristine, hygienic environment in the salon throughout the day, including sweeping up hair and cleaning.
- Collecting used refreshments cups or glasses and ensuring they are returned to the kitchen.
- Washing and neatly storing salon towels post-use.
- Sanitizing tools and equipment per Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures.
- Maintaining high personal hygiene and ensuring your workstation is always clean and organized.
- Complying with Dis-Chem’s Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Health and Safety regulations.
- Adhering to the Dis-Chem uniform and personal appearance guidelines.
Required Skills and Competencies
Essential:
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
- Outstanding client assessment skills with an eye for detail and patience.
- Ability to analyze hair and skin types, accurately mix hair colors, dyes, and other chemicals.
- Punctuality and adherence to work hours and shift rosters, with consistent clocking in and out.
- Commitment to providing high-quality service standards.
Advantageous:
- Proficiency in a second language.
